Indiana

Addie just got back from her first trip to Indiana (with Mommy and Nana).  Auntie Sarah is less than a month away from her due date and we were super excited to help throw her a baby shower!

After some craziness trying to get to Indianapolis (a planned drive that turned into a last minute flight - which was delayed and then cancelled - followed by a flight the following afternoon - also delayed) we hit the pool for some relaxation!  The water was a little too chilly for Addie, so she posed for some pics by the pool instead.

Then we headed to Crown Point for Auntie's Sarah's shower.  Sarah's bestie, Erin, and Erin's daughter, Tristan, arrived early to help with the set up.  They made some really pretty centerpieces and brought lots of yummy cupcakes!

Baby Cake took a quick nap before the guests arrived.

I was not a fan of the "point at the pregnant lady's belly" pic when I was pregnant - but Sarah didn't mind!

After a delicious lunch and some games, it was time to open gifts!

Addie had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone!

Our Aunt Lisa and cousin Kylie drove all the way from Wisconsin.  We were so happy to see them!

Thanks for having us, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Ryan!  Can't wait to post some pics of Addie's new baby cousin really soon!

happy mom's day - a few days late

Happy Mother's Day to all mamas, grand-mamas, great-grand-mamas, and soon-to-be mamas (like Auntie Sarah)!

Remembering the day I became a mommy!

national zoo

It was a beautiful day in DC, so we took Addie on her first trip to the National zoo to check out some animals!

First stop...the lions!  Addie got a ride on Daddy's shoulders to get a better look.

How lovable are these lions!?  They were giving each other some kisses.

Next stop...the elephants!  

Time for a quick snuggle with Daddy in the shade....

Then, on to the flamingos!  Addie was really excited to see them since she wore her flamingo dress!  But she  was a little disappointed that they don't wear sunglasses and tutus in real life!

The zoo is always more fun with friends!

Addie's chores

Now that Addie is a big girl, she's been helping mommy around the house.  She really likes folding unfolding laundry.  She likes it so much so did it twice - first sitting - then (after mommy folded it again, but didn't put it out of reach - my bad) standing.

Thanks for the help, Baby Cake.  We'll have to increase your allowance!

silly baby

Just want to take a minute to share some funny/interesting/weird stuff that Addie does now.  I'm lovin all most of it!

She Loves the Verizon Fios commercial.  
She literally stops whatever she is doing (eating, playing, crawling) the second she hears it.  I have no idea how she recognizes it so quickly.  It is the Most Boring commercial Ever - pretty much a voice-over talking about the latest cable tv deals and some words on the screen with the occasional person talking about how much they love Verizon.  I don't get why she loves it, but she smiles her face off and laughs out loud until it's over!!


She crawls as fast as she can toward something she shouldn't touch (usually a wall outlet or dog food) and just before she gets to it she stops and looks over her shoulder at you to see if she's gonna get away with it.


She makes a sour face with the first bite of Everything she eats.
It doesn't matter if it's her very favorite food.  She always makes the face with the first bite.


If she starts crying in her crib because she wants out, she pulls herself up and leans over as far as she can at the corner that's right next to her bedroom door.
She really wants to make sure you can hear her!
